ADVANCE FORWARDING GROUP

EXCEPTIONALLY tight credit control and competitive pricing have contributed to growth at
Melbourne distribution firm Advance Forwarding Group.

Managing director Steve Hobson said: “The business is up year on year, despite our former
client base being reduced by almost half.”

Acutely aware of maintaining cash flow, the firm is insured against accruing bad debts and
refers new clients to its insurers to determine whether or not they are worthy of credit.

Mr Hodson said that, through sharp pricing and the hard work of the telemarketing
department, the company had picked up between 40 and 50 new accounts in the past six
months.

“There is light at the end of the tunnel but, with banks not lending, the Government doesn’t seem to have a plan to help SMEs.”
